DMCA & takedown policy
We’re a small, independent publisher and we want to do right by the journalists whose work we surface. If you’d like Modelwire to change how it handles your content, the fastest path is below.
What we publish
For each article we link to, Modelwire stores and displays:
- The headline (as written by you).
- Our own 2–3 sentence summary, generated by an AI model and verified for original wording.
- A thumbnail (typically your
og:image), attributed to your site. - The publication name, with a prominent link to the original article.
- One or two category tags and a relevance score we generate internally.
We do not store the full text of your article and we never republish it.
Feeds, images, and third-party terms
Modelwire is an index: we link to your story, show our own short summary, and often display a thumbnail (commonly from your page’s Open Graph image) to help readers recognize the piece. We are not a substitute for subscribing to or reading your site, and our summaries are written in our own words.
Some publishers place additional limits on automated access to RSS feeds, reuse of headlines or snippets, or commercial use of images — those terms vary by outlet and change over time. We honor removal and opt-out requests promptly. If your organization has a specific policy (for example around AP-style content or paywalled feeds), email us and we will adjust how we surface your work or remove it.
Nothing on this page is legal advice. If you are unsure about rights, consult counsel.
Common requests we honor
- Remove a single article. Send us the URL.
- Stop indexing your site entirely. Either email us, or block
ModelwireBotin yourrobots.txt— we respect it. - Use a different thumbnail or none at all. Tell us which.
- Adjust how a summary is worded if it’s factually wrong or misrepresents your story.
How to file a request
Email dmca@themodelwire.com with:
- The Modelwire URL(s) at issue.
- The original article URL(s).
- Your name, role, and the publication you represent.
- What you’d like changed (remove, re-summarize, change image, full opt-out).
- For copyright takedowns: a statement made under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder, and a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized.
We aim to action requests within 2 business days. For straightforward removals it’s usually same-day.
